Your business, your California Business Liability Insurance
When you own a company, whether big or small, it is sometimes difficult to keep track of everything and everyone. The importance of keeping your organization safe during times like these in our economy is necessary. According to The Orange County Register, Rebecca Labelle, 54, of Chino admitted to embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from a Santa Ana sign and graphics company.
Labelle was accused of using her position as an office manager and accountant at Clarke & Associates to steal more than $82,000 over a 15-month period. She reportedly used the money to pay her mortgage and credit card bills. On Wednesday, the culprit was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to repay the stolen money, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said. Authorities report that Labelle changed financial records to cover her tracks, but was caught when the company’s owner went into the firm’s office over a weekend. He discovered a letter from a bank about funds being taken out of an emergency account. In May, Labelle pleaded guilty to four felony counts of computer access and fraud.
