Tips For Frying Your Thanksgiving Turkey

Tips For Frying Your Thanksgiving Turkey

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and our staff here at Remland Insurance would like to share with you a few tips on how to make the very best fried turkey in the neighborhood! If you follow these simple steps, you will have complete success! If you skip a step, or fry the bird to close to your house, you could end up with a raging house fire! Your California home insurance is there to protect you, but avoiding the disaster is a much better option in order to enjoy your Thanksgiving meal!

Frying a Turkey:

  • Gather supplies (fryer, propane gas tank, thermometer, infector, fire extinguisher, oven mitts)
  • Thaw the Turkey Completely
  • Prep Turkey with seasoning and inject with flavored butter
  • Set up fryer outdoors, away from your home and any flammable structure or plant
  • Use the correct amount of oil (use the fill line in your fryer, we like Peanut Oil)
  • Preheat oil to 375 degrees
  • Warn children and pets to stay away from fryer
  • Turn flame off and lower Turkey into oil (this prevents fire)
  • Fry Turkey 3-5 minutes per pound (maintaining 350 degree oil temperature)
  • Remove Turkey and drain on paper towels, letting rest for 15 minutes
  • Enjoy!
