The New Technology Saving You Money on your California Auto Insurance
In the last few years, the auto industry has changed and advanced dramatically. Some changes are helpful, others end up costing a lot of money for little everyday use, but the recent addition of collision avoidance systems has helped many drivers avoid accidents and keep their California auto insurance premiums low.
Preventing a car crash is often hard to do, but with new technology and sensors added to the front, sides and rear bumper of many new vehicles, autonomous braking systems and adaptive headlights…accidents could soon be a “thing of the past!” Now we are not at all saying you can drive like a maniac and your car will save you, but these important features are keeping more and more drivers safe on the road daily. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) states that “So far forward collision technology is reducing claims, particularly for damage to other vehicles, and adaptive headlights are having an even bigger impact that we had anticipated.”
Over the next few days, we will talk about each new feature in the auto industry, but if you are in the market for a new vehicle, you may want to consider learning more about these additional features on new models of cars. Records of same model vehicles with and without these safety features show a vast difference in driving and safety of the passengers. Your California auto insurance rate is determined by your yearly performance and record operating a vehicle. These features may cost more up front, but in the end could save you loads of money if a collision situation arises.
