The City of Orange Turns 125
In just 35 days, The City of Orange will celebrate its 125th year as an incorporated city! April 6th, 1888 marks the anniversary of Orange, and this year the community will commemorate that special day on April 6, 2013 with a big celebration and tribute to many residents who have made our great city what it is today!
The City of Orange is the third oldest city in Orange County, and is home to the largest historic district in California.The celebration will be an old time block-party neighborhood bash in the historic district of Old Towne Orange, in the heart of the Plaza. Events and ceremonies will start at 12:00 noon and will feature music, food vendors,children’s activities a ceremonial birthday cake and more! Festivities will conclude at 2:30 pm.
This year to commemorate the 125th year,the City of Orange is also introducing a 125th Birthday Street Banner program! Business owners and residents from the City of Orange can purchase a banner for $200 and their name will be displayed from April 2013-2014 on the Chapman Ave. light poles all the way to Tustin Ave. For more information, or to purchase a banner please contact the City of Orange directly, and submit 125th Birthday Banner Form.
