Stay Safe this New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve Safety Tips
The New Year is just around the corner. Keep in mind that even though it is a festive holiday, it is also one of the most dangerous holidays of the year. The last thing you want is to start your New Year off on the wrong foot. Here are some New Year’s tips to keep in mind:
- If you are going to attend a New Year’s Eve party, please plan ahead when it comes to a safe ride home. Whether you plan on only having a beer or going all out, have a plan for a designated driver to get you home safely. This may mean calling a taxi service such as Uber or Lyft ahead of time to ensure you have a safe ride home. No matter what, do not drive if you plan to drink alcoholic beverages.
- If possible, avoid the roads altogether on this night of partying. Stay home if at all possible. If you have to be out on the roads on New Year’s Eve and the morning after, drive extra careful and eliminate unnessessary distractions.
- If you are planning on leaving your house for the evening, plan ahead for your pets to ensure they don’t get spooked by fireworks or other loud noises. If you’re planning on hosting a party at your house for New Year’s Eve, consider a safe place to keep your pets, away from the party.
- Most importantly, remain aware of your surroundings and stay alert.
