Should You Consider An Electric Vehicle?
Have you been seeing more and more strange looking vehicles on the road lately? The Automobile industry’s production of electric and hybrid vehicles is on the rise…and the car models are becoming more and more efficient. Companies like Nissan, Chevy and Mitsubishi have joined the pack with production of electric vehicles in 2012. These vehicles are becoming affordable to the normal consumer and have incredible federal tax credit benefits.
Though nothing has been able to really compete with the Toyota Prius the last eight years, some of these new vehicles start at just $20,000 which a less then the base model of the Prius. Cars such as the Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt and Mitsubishi i are considered plug-in hybrids and do have less power than the self-charging Prius does.
Electric and hybrid vehicles are also beneficial to own because they cost less to run, and are better for the environment. Although California auto insurance carriers do not yet give a discount to “green vehicles,” there is a chance for rewarding their customers in the future for environments conscious vehicle purchases.
On the horizon…solar powered vehicles that will operate extremely efficiently in the near future. It’s time to start thinking smart when it comes to purchasing the right vehicle for your family and for the environment. Go Green on the car your family commutes most with! Not only will it save you a great expense on gasoline, but the overall performance of the vehicle will be great as well!
