Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s Takes Place on Nov. 15

On Saturday, November 15, hundreds of people will gather at Angel Stadium in Anaheim to participate in the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The Anaheim walk is the last of four walks held in Orange County this year to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Teams of friends, families and corporations are signed up to participate, and have already raised more than $191,000 according to the Alzheimer’s Association website. For many, this 3.1-mile walk means steps closer to a world without the disease.

Gary and Rhonda Remland, owners of Remland Insurance Services in Old Towne Orange are participating in the year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in honor of Gary’s late mother Mary. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother that lived in the City of Orange for many decades serving in her church, community and taking care of her family.

In July of 2014, Mary lost her 10+ year battle with dementia that eventually led to Alzheimer’s. This year, the Remland family along with Remland Insurance Services, are happy to walk in Mary’s honor for this great cause hoping that someday the funding that is  raised by the Alzheimer’s Association will someday find a cure so that families will not have to experience  the grueling, drawn-out disease.
