Protect Yourself Against Electronic Theft Today

The numbers are growing in leaps and bounds when it comes to “data theft”, and one of the big areas of concern is your “smart phone”.   Because of their capability and the capacity to store and send personal information including financial data such as credit card numbers, it’s become a prime target for hackers to get this information.  There is a way to protect yourself by adding the proper coverage to your California insurance policy.

If you are an employer, and you issue a cell phone for use by your employees, and you do not take the proper steps to protect your system, you may expose your company’s financial data, customer information, or other details of your company, but putting this information in the hands of your employees without protecting your digital office information.

So, take a few extra minutes to make sure that your office information systems are secure with passwords, and that you check to see who is getting on and off your system.  Make sure you use a reputable company to help you secure your data server and it’s very important data.   Data breaches, identity theft, and data compromise are becoming the newest type of insurance claim.  Make sure your business insurance policy includes this type of coverage.    Contact your California insurance agent to discuss adding this onto your policy today!
