Orange International Street Fair – Labor Day Weekend 2013

oisf 2013.jpg

This year marks the 41st annual Orange International Street Fair here in Orange, California. Attendance is expected to be over 400,000 people in the 3 days the Fair runs. Each year people come for great food, great music and you guessed it…great beer. Admission is free for anyone attending the event, and menu prices at the different booths range from$2.00-$10.00 for food and vary among retail booths.

Dozens of local non-profits, booster clubs and charities spend months planning for the 3 day event where they sell food and drink from nearly every country and culture around the world. Street themes include:American, Mexican, Greek, German, Italian, Polynesian, Irish, Ginza, Norwegian,Danish, English, Dutch, Swiss, Australian and Asian! IF you can’t find something to eat here, they you are truly missing out of some of the best homemade treats in all of California!

This year’s Orange Street Fair features 7 music stages, a Children’s Street with games, prizes and fun, Arts & Craft booths,Community Groups, Commercial Businesses and more. There is a little bit of something for every member of the family and it’s an overall great time! We highly recommend arriving before dark and leaving before 8:00 pm if you plan to bring small children. It gets extremely busy in the later evening and very hard to walk around with a group.

Saturday and Sunday breakfast are wonderful on German & Danish street where you can feast on native donuts from the respective countries.  Be safe and enjoy this wonderful community event! If you are looking for parking, local lots charge around $10.00 per vehicle. You can park in most of the surrounding neighborhoods for free and walk in, just be sure to read the posted signs around the street. Remland Insurance Owner, Gary Remland plans to work in the Orange Rotary Kettle Corn booth this year…so be sure to “pop” by and say “Hi”to him!

Stay safe, stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and enjoy celebrating Labor Day, Old Towne Orange style!
