2016 Orange Field of Valor
The Community Foundation of Orange is proud to host the Field of Valor–an event that supports our military in the greater Orange community. Handy Park, from November 6-11, will be transformed into a sea of American flags, and raise money for our local Veterans and Active Duty military and their families. Our nation separated from England and became its own in 1776, so 1,776 flags will be erected. Each honoring and proudly recognizing those who are currently serving in the military, those who served, and those who paid the ultimate price in service to our country.
(All branches of the military, active or expired, are included: Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserves)
A military service tribute tag will be attached to each and every sponsored flag. The week after the event, the tags and flags may be picked up or donated back to the CFO for the 2017 Orange Field Valor. (Note: you cannot take the flag pole, just the flag.) The flags are 3′ x 5′ and will be attached to an 8′ flag pole.
Last year, over $30,000 were raised, and grants were made to the Santiago Canyon Foundation Veterans Service Office, the Support the Enlisted Project, and the Senior Center-Veterans Assistance Program (S.T.E.P.).
