“It Can Wait” Texting While Driving Campaign
The Remland Insurance staff is thrilled to learn that the four major cellular phone carriers plan to ban together this summer to advertise the “It Can Wait” campaign against texting while driving. AT&T,Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint and 200 other organizations will all participate in radio and television advertising in the months of June, July & August urging Americans to avoid using their cellular devices while behind the wheel.
The advertising is unique because it consists of companies basically urging their subscribers to stop using their products in specific circumstances. The campaign exposes the dangers of texting while driving along with real-life experiences and images of those who have lost their lives due to accidents while driving and using their cell phones.
The ad will also be on display on the three Goodyear Blimps,on billboards, via Social Media and will host a tour of a driving simulator across the United States. They call texting while driving an “epidemic” that will only get worse over the years if no one takes a stand! Texting while driving makes you 23 more times likely to get involved in an auto accident and truly impairs you from being considered a “good driver.” The effects of driving while texting could also hinder your California auto insurance rates as accidents add points and generally increase annual cost and premiums.
