Happy 123rd Birthday Yosemite National Park

Happy 123rd Birthday Yosemite National Park

Today marks the 123rd anniversary of Yosemite National Park here in California. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful National Park to visit within driving distance from Orange County where there are endless views of ancient sequoia trees, waterfalls, valleys and hundreds of species of wildlife. Yosemite was established on October 1, 1890 and measures at a whopping 747,956 acres!

The park boasts over 800 miles of marked trails for hikers, bikers and campers along with great spots for overnight backpackers. Most common wildlife species include the mule deer, chipmunk, brush rabbit, squirrel and marmots. Yosemite Falls is one of the most majestic and powerful falls on this side of the United States and reaches its peak flow in May each year due to snow melt in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

If you plan to take a road trip this Fall or Winter, we highly recommend making the 6-7 hour drive to Yosemite National Park! There are countless hotels, lodges and delicious restaurants to choose from and you cannot beat the incredible scenery.  Taking a road trip is one of the most affordable ways to see lots of amazing scenery and make great memories. Our staff at Remland Insurance would encourage you to be sure your California auto insurance premium is up to date before you hit the road just to be sure you are properly covered while out of town.
