Fireworks and Your California Home Insurance
The Fourth of July is rapidly approaching…and in just 2 days the skies across America will be lit up with beautiful firework shows and the sounds of patriotic music as we celebrate our great countries independence. The Fourth of July is unique unlike any other holiday in that fireworks are available for the general public to purchase in designated cities all around Orange County and set off in neighborhoods and at local community parks making it one of the most dangerous nights of the year for many Americans and their families.
Statistics show that emergency rooms treat an estimated 8,600 people for firework-related injuries and burns each year. 75% of those cases occur between June 18th and July 18th when the firework booths are set up. The U.S. Fire Administration strongly suggests that you view a community sponsored show rather than light fireworks at your own home in order to remain safe from any potential injuries.
Fireworks can also be hazardous to your home or neighborhood as well due to windy conditions and fire spreading rapidly on a warm July night. If a spark catches and lands near or on your home, it could make for a whole new type of “firework show.” Your California home insurance can help with the repair costs…but nothing can replace all of the memories and possessions you could lose in a house fire.
This Fourth of July, Remland Insurance along with many other small business here in Orange are proud to sponsor the “3rd of July” celebration at Fred Kelly Stadium from 4:00pm-10:00pm on TUESDAY, JULY 3rd! The event is just $7.00 for admission and is a great way to safely watch fireworks with your entire family! Food, Games, Fireworks, Music and Fun all evening long at: 3920 E. Spring Street, Orange CA 92869 (Fred Kelly Stadium at El Modena High School).
Stay safeour there this Fourth of July holiday….and head to your local community firework show!
