5-Ingredient Hot Cross Buns
Easter is just a few days away and we wanted to share a quick and delicious recipe for “homemade” Hot Cross Buns. The recipe is inspired by the great people at Pillsbury who always come up with simple ways to make delicious treats using a few easy ingredients.
Pillsbury Easter Hot Cross Buns
1 Can (8oz) Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Rolls
1/3 C. Raisins
¼ C. Currents
½ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Lemon Zest
¼ C. Powdered Sugar
1 to 2 tsp. Milk
Directions: Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Separate dough into 8 triangles and lay on flat surface. In a small bowl, combine raisins, cinnamon, currents and lemon zest. Spoon about 1 tsp of the mixture onto the short side of each triangle of dough and gently wrap corners of dough over filling. Pinch all edges to seal and place point side down on greased baking sheet.
Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown on top. Remove from baking sheet and allow to cool on a wire rack for 10-20 minutes. Top with icing mixture of Powdered Sugar and Milk in the shape of a traditional cross – hence the ‘Hot CROSS Bun’ title of these delicious treats.
Enjoy your family Easter gathering!
