3rd of July Celebration in the City of Orange
Any city in America can celebrate July 4, but only the City of Orange needs two whole days to do it! Orange kicks off Independence Day early with the 18th Annual “3rd of July” Celebration. Residents and visitors are invited to come out to El Modena High School – Fred Kelly Stadium on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 beginning at 4 p.m. to get Independence Day started early at this yearly City event.
Since the first event in 1996, the City of Orange 3rd of July Celebration has grown into a much beloved and highly anticipated community event. The celebration kicks-off with live music, children’s activities, community food booths, and a hometown carnival atmosphere. As the sun begins to go down, everyone enters Fred Kelly Stadium for the grand finale, with a musical performance by the Orange Community Master Chorale which concludes with a patriotic fireworks salute to America.

In order to protect the field at Fred Kelly Stadium, the following items are not allowed on the field: lawn chairs, food, drinks, seeds of any kind, gum, popcorn, hard soled or high-heel shoes, and any other items staff deem as harmful to the field. Wheeled items such as strollers, wheelchairs, wagons, or other wheeled items are only permitted in designated areas.
Tickets are $7- children under two years old are free- and can be purchased at the Community Services Department, 230 East Chapman Avenue (corner of Grand Street) through 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event after 1:30 p.m. Residents can get more information by calling the Special Events Hotline at (714) 744 -7278.
